Lies decimate relationships because they break trust a foundation the relationship can’t function without.
Lies are interesting because some people enter a grey area where they think that not telling the whole truth and missing bits out isn’t lying.
To be clear it is lying too.
I know many do lie under the umbrella of protection, but all it really does is take away the other persons’ freedom to make their choices if they had all the facts.
Adults don’t tend to like being treated like a child.
Lies also have a terrible emotional effect on the person lying too.
It’s why many people whose affair is discovered often feel relief as it’s now out in the open.
Lies mean the person being lied to has a few painful jobs upon discovery of the lie(s).
They have to put new meanings to the history with that person.
They are confused about what meanings to attach to the lie or the person.
They can start to feel there is nothing they can trust.
This can lead them into wondering if by trusting a liar historically they no longer have the ability to trust themselves to protect themselves.
This emotional position can grind lives and relationships to a halt.
It’s so important to embrace and become the truth because this is where you’ll find freedom.
