I have decided to bring back a Thought for Sunday for those new to this blog I ran this on Sundays during COVID.
This is a category where I would broaden the thinking past marriages and relationships into life. Some called this “life coaching” however I’m not a fan of that label.
The world has so much to teach us that can be applied to many areas of life.
Today’s post is about how “true WISDOM“ is created.
Wisdom is critical because it sets up the thinking that will allow safe outcomes and accelerated growth which is perfect as life is far too short to get it wrong for too long.
What you will notice as people age, the older generation who have successfully learnt critical life lessons will be very aware of how much they don’t know so they spend each day learning well into their nineties.
In contrast, a younger generation may have convinced themselves they know everything so their learning has stopped.
Has anyone considered that those that stop reading (so stop learning) are going to have the same growth potential as those that can’t read at all?
Good ideas won’t ever descend and life is full of people who are teaching how to be successful because they have done it themselves.
So for the wise people who have learnt how to learn effectively they usually discover what they have been thinking may not always be true.
So being wise they are very open to the concept of unlearning what they thought they knew – this is how they become wise they don’t mind being wrong.
These people embrace the concept of learning and growing especially from those that have the result they want.
This is why the wisest people are the ones who live as students of life in contrast to those that feel they have nothing to learn and don’t grow past where they are.
What I see is a lot of people are resisting learning and putting a lot of energy into trying to prove they are right so they don’t have to learn so they stay stuck as a result.
Or worse they stay stuck whilst blaming others which is the perfect thinking model for being out of control of themselves and their life, sadly they don’t see this.
Many refuse to pay for the right help totally blind to the fact they are paying the price for their lack of knowledge every single day anyway.
Your biggest spend should be on investing in you and your knowledge.
The cost of not doing this with only one go at life is a big price to pay.
There is no ceiling on the money we can gain for those interested to learn how, but there is a ceiling on the number of days we have on this planet.
Just imagine spending a whole life, living the wrong life, or living the right life the wrong way.
A wise person knows that life is short and there isn’t time to waste on thinking that what they know is all there is.
In fact, wise people are all too aware, it’s what we don’t know is likely to hurt us the most so they learn every day.
So my message is this.
If your life isn’t how it should be it’s going to be because what you know isn’t enough.
In terms of progress, life is a mirror so please believe the reflection and don’t blame others take charge, it’s the only way to breakthrough.
So your only way forward is to invest in yourself and your own thinking so you can take yourself to a life that makes more sense to you than the one you have today.
This is why many of my clients decide to keep in contact with me to help them with many areas of their life and business not just relationships.
They do this because they can see what they learn are skills that are transferable to other areas of life.
People want to progress and so I help them get out of their own way to achieve their true potential.
